blue overalls

here, we can start discussing our performance art collective and the art action that we will carry out later this year. i think we should start by discussing what our concerns are. what are we interested in? where is our manifesto? who's writing that???

  1. After the lecture we attended at MOLAA i was inspired by one grupos actions. They used a tactic that forced people to react when they felt threatened by something. This made me think of the issues of tuition increase at our school. We sit in class all day complaining about how expensive tuition gets every semester but we don't take any immediate action. I joked about doing something in our performance where we force students to pay a fee everything they attend a class or paying to use the restrooms. I think that would really piss people off and send the message. Maybe this isnt the way to approach it but its just a thought.

  2. I like that idea Karla. I think you are on the right track. I personally cringe every time I see an email from the school with the subject "Tuition Increase". I was also thinking of doing a performance that reiterates the issues with increased tuition not only at our school, but in California as a whole.
